Architect Smajo Beso has recalled spending his first days in Newcastle after fleeing his war-torn Bosnian town as a schoolboy to escape the genocide.Mr Beso speaks of his surprise at hearing the sound of birds rather than bombs after he arrived in Newcastle and how different his life became living as a refugee.
