A video filmed in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu showed a farmer tipping huge quantities of perfectly ripe tomatoes into the lake from his truck.
According to local media, the price of ten kilos of tomatoes in India has sunk below one euro or (1.21 US dollars).
