Father gone and family hospitalised, Pune doctor still on duty

Healthcare workers across the country are working under tremendous pressure amid the second wave of COVID-19.

So excruciating is the condition that a doctor in Pune continues to look after patients despite losing his father to the pandemic and his mother and brother, too, are admitted to hospital.

Explaining his "difficult situation", Dr Mukund, Director of Sanjeevan Hospital, said the staff cannot rest their eyes as the workload is very extreme.

Pune city has over 1 lakh active infections, and is the worst-hit city in Maharashtra.
