Covid aid to India largest package France provided to any country’: French Envoy

French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain said the Covid-19 medical aid to India is a 'gesture of solidarity'.

India received Covid medical aid from France on May 2.

France delivered eight oxygen generator plants including 28 tonnes of medical equipment among others.

Lenain said it was the largest package provided by France to any country.

“We have been working for days and nights with ministries and companies to provide assistance to India.

We want to show solidarity and it's a two-way solidarity.

India had helped us last year when France was in dire need of medical drugs and the people of France remembered that.

We want to show solidarity now that India is facing some difficulty,” said Lenain.
