Nashik oxygen tragedy: Machine, maintenance or man to blame for 24 deaths?

In this episode of InFocus, we decode the Nashik oxygen gas leak.

At least 22 patients were killed after an oxygen tanker leaked outside a hospital in Nashik, disrupting supply to patients.

A total of 150 Covid-19 patients were admitted at the Dr Zakir Naik Municipal Hospital of which 23 were on ventilator support.

The Maharashtra government has launched a probe into the cause of the tragedy.

An ex-gratia of โ‚น5 lakh has also been announced for the families of the deceased patients.

The tragedy comes amid reports of several hospitals facing a shortage of oxygen.
