Gujarat registers 12,553 new COVID infections on April 21
Gujarat on April 21 registered 12,553 new COVID infections which took the state's total caseload to 4,40,731.
State government has accelerated the pace of COVID-19 testing and vaccination.
125 fatalities were reported due to the deadly virus on April 21, taking the death toll of the state to 5, 740.
Currently Gujarat has 84,126 active cases.
Former Secretary of Ahmedabad Hospitaland Nursing Hospital, Dr. Viren Shah said that the current situation can be controlled if the government imposes lockdown.
"It is the need of the hour,"he added.
