Arch segment of world's highest rail bridge in JandK completed

The arch bottom of world's highest railway bridge over Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi has been completed.

''At present, it takes 12 hours via road (Katra-Banihal), but after completion of the bridge, distance via train would be halved.

Completion expected in 2 years'', said Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager of Northern Railway.

Interestingly, the railway bridge which is 1.3 km long and built at a height of 359 metres above the river, is taller than Eiffel tower.
