In an attempt to address overcrowded Border Patrol facilities and tend to unaccompanied minors.

The Biden administration is utilizing Fort Bliss near El Paso, Texas, and Lackland Air Force Base near San Antonio, Texas.

The move will provide over 5,000 more beds for migrant children.

This support will be on a fully-reimbursable basis, and will not negatively affect military training, operations, readiness, or other military requirements, including National Guard and Reserve readiness.

According to government data, 4,962 children were in Customs and Border Protection facilities as of March 23.

Three convention centers in Dallas, San Antonio and San Diego are also being utilized.

An emergency intake site has been established in Midland, Texas, with two other influx facilities in Pecos and Carrizo Springs, Texas
