Ramdas Athawale meets Kovind, seeks President's rule in Maharashtra
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale met President Ram Nath Kovind and sought President's rule in Maharashtra.
This comes in the wake of former Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh's corruption allegation against State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Sachin Waze episode.
โI submitted a memorandum of demand to President Ram Nath Kovind.
I urged President Kovind to impose President's rule in Maharashtra.
President Kovind told me that he would think over my demand,โ he said.
Param Bir Singh had written to CM Uddhav Thackeray suggesting Deshmukhโs involvement in corruption.
The state home minister has, however, refuted the former Mumbai Police chief's allegation.
Singh was earlier transferred so that cases pertaining to Sachin Waze were probed without obstruction.
Waze was arrested in connection with the Mukesh Ambani security threat case.
