Served nearly 30-years on the barbourville city council has resigned ahead of his scheduled sentencing this summer in a federal drug case, according to officials.
74-year old calvin manis owned and operated a pharmacy in barbourville.
Prosecutors say he conspired with john pasternak, of barbourville, to illegally distribute drugs.
Both men have pleaded guilty.
