Thakur was commissioned as a Lieutenant in July 2016.
Thakur was promoted as a Captain in the 124 Sikh regiment.
The BJP MP is a member of the lower house of Parliament in India.
Thakur serves as Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs.
