Officers from India's forest department used a crane to remove a wild elephant from a residential area in West Bengal earlier this week The elephant entered the West Midinpore area on February 25.

โ€œThe area was cordoned off to conduct the operation.

We tranquillized the elephant," said a forest department official.

"After observation, we will release the elephant in the forest,โ€ he added.
