Glasses-Wearers Are Three Times Less Likely to Catch COVID-19, Study Says.

A study from India has found evidence that people who wear glasses are less likely to become infected with COVID-19.

The non-peer reviewed study was published on medRxiv and involved 304 men and women between the ages of 10 and 80.

These individuals, who had all reported COVID-19 symptoms, were studied by researchers over the course of two weeks in the summer of 2020.

They found that among the participants, only 19 percent wore glasses most of the time.

Participants were observed touching their faces up to 23 times per hour.

They were also observed touching their eyes an average of three times per hour.

The researchers concluded that those who wore glasses were less likely to rub their eyes and therefore less at risk of contracting COVID-19.
