Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that India is devoting importance to solar energy to fight against climate change.

He further said that in the last six years, India's solar energy capacity has gone up 13 times.

โ€œOur gains in solar energy will ensure a stronger fight against climate change.

Work is also underway to connect our hardworking farmers with the solar sector.

In the last six years, India's solar energy capacity has gone up 13 times,โ€ he said.

PM Modi added, โ€œThe country is investing in 'Blue Economy', we value the efforts of our fishermen.

Government policies will ensure India becomes a hub for seafood exports.

Development is our aim, religion and so I seek the support of the people of Kerala.โ€ PM Modi inaugurated several key projects in the power and urban sector in the southern state.

Projects included Kasaragod Solar Power Project and Water Treatment Plant at Aruvikkara.
