Chennai hospital uses tubeless VATS technique to treat cancer
For the first time in India, new tubeless video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) technique was used to successfully treat lung cancer patient from Bangladesh.
Doctors from Apollo Cancer Centre performed the surgery and confirmed recovery of the patient.
"We have successfully done the India's first same sitting bilateral VATS for our patient from Bangladesh," said Dr Abhijit Das, Consultant Thoracic Oncologist, Apollo Hospitals.
