Nepal: Rival communist faction announces strike, over 150 arrested

Following the ongoing protest over dissolution of parliament in Nepal, almost 157 cadres affiliated to the ruling Nepal Communist Party's rival faction have been arrested on Thursday.

The agitating groups, stationed in various major locations throughout the capital and valley staged protest and blocked the road throughout the day.

Rival faction of NCP has been protesting, the move of now caretaker Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to dissolve the parliament and now the government's move to administer oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed members of various constitutional bodies has been added to the existing protest issues.

The strike was observed by the splinter group led by Dahal and Nepal against Oli's decision of Parliament dissolution.
