Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the state government has taken very strict action and suspended Asha and Anganwadi workers for administering sanitiser during pulse polio drive in Yavatmal.

"One Asha and one Anganwadi worker have been suspended.

Apart from this, the Government has also recommended that the women and child development department should terminate them," he said.

Twelve children under five years of age were admitted to a hospital after they were administered sanitiser drops instead of polio vaccine in Maharashtra's Yavatmal on February 01.
