‘Confident we will achieve direct tax collection target’: CBDT Chairman

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Pramod Chandra Mody said the revised estimate for direct tax collection this year is Rs 9.05 lakh crore, out of which Rs 6.63 lakh crore, have been collected.

“The revised estimate for direct tax collection this year is Rs 9.05 lakh crore, out of which we have collected Rs 6.63 lakh crores.

I am very confident that we will achieve the target,” said Mody.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2021 on February 01.

This is the first budget after the Covid-19 pandemic and the ninth one under the Modi government.

The Union Budget 2021 was also unique as it was the first paperless budget.
