Centre allows full occupancy in cinema halls from Feb 01
Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar on January 31 announced that full occupancy will be allowed in cinema halls from Feb 01.
However, protocols related to COVID-19 have to be followed strictly.
He also said that online booking of tickets will be encouraged to curb the spread of the virus.When asked about the censorship of web series available of OTT platforms, Javadekar said that the government has received a lot of complaints against some serials available on OTT platforms. He also clarified that films and serials released on OTT platforms and digital newspapers don't come under purview of Press Council Act, Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act or Censor Board.
