Starmer: UK death toll is national tragedy

Reacting to the UK recording 100,000 deaths Labour leader Sir Keir Starmersaid it was a “national tragedy”, adding: “We must never become numb to thesenumbers or treat them as just statistics.

Every death is a loved one, afriend, a neighbour, a partner or a colleague.

It is an empty chair at thedinner table.”
