Watch: BSF detects 150-metre cross-border tunnel along IB in J&K's Kathua
BSF detected a tunnel beneath the international border in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua.
Officials said that the tunnel was built from across the border to facilitate terrorists' infiltration.
BSF troops detected the tunnel in Bobiyaan village during an operation on Wednesday.
Senior BSF and police officers rushed to the spot soon after the incident came to light.
"Tunnel detected along ib in the Hira Nagar sector is approximately 150-meter long.
Proper engineering effort has gone into the construction of this tunnel.
This is a deliberate effort of Pakistan to push in terrorists into India," BSF IG, NS Jamwal said.
Last year, BSF detected two such tunnels in Samba district on August 28 and November 22 following successful infiltration by two groups of terrorists who were subsequently neutralized in separate encounters along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway while they were en route to Kashmir in trucks.
