Number of suicides have reduced year-on-year: Army Chief on USI report on stress in jawans

Speaking on the report of United Services Institution of India (USI), which say that the officers in the force face much more stress than what is faced by the jawans, Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane on January 12 said, "On USI report on stress in jawans, I'd say that the sample size of 400 is not adequate.

For 99% accuracy, at least 19,000 samples should have been taken.

We have taken a number of measures to deal with stress in jawans.

The number of suicides have reduced year-on-year."
