Bird flu: People avoid poultry products, mutton witness brisk raise in Kerala

Amid the rising scare of Bird flu, also known as avian influenza poultry business across the country has witnessed a massive dip.

Outbreak of the disease has created reluctance among the people to purchase poultry products.

Sale and transportation of poultry has been restricted in epicentres of bird flu.

Shopkeepers in Thiruvananthapuram complained of poor sales of chicken.

Though, mutton sales observed a raise as the costing mounted to Rs 800 per kilogram.

In Kerala, 25,000 odd birds have died due to the bird flu outbreak in the state.

In addition to this, 50,935 birds have been culled to stop the spread of the bird flu.
