Mayor-Elect Lester Miller announces County blueprint for 2021

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- Mayor-Elect Lester Miller is preparaing to take office in two weeks.

He met with his transitional team Friday, to discuss goals and strategies for 2021 and beyond.

Today, he met with his transitional team... to finalize the goals he wants to accomplish... in 20-21 and beyond.

41nbc's jatrissa wooten spoke with the incoming mayor mayor about his plans.

"standup: the mayor's office now occupied by mayor robert reichart will be the new home to mayor elect lester miller come january.

He and his transitional team finally created their blueprint and he says he can't wait to implement those ideas."

According to mayor elect lester miller---his blueprint for macon-bibb county is complete and will be put in place for the next four years starting in january.

Miller says the group has been working for the last two months, to identify concerns residents have.

Over 2-thousand people have shared their ideas.

As a result--- the 31 member transitional team --- prioritized 5 key areas from the community's input that create goals and actions, to help solve problems. the mayor-elect tells me, his administration created strategic plans for the following: diversity, equity and inclusion---public safety---economic development--- education and workforce-- lastly, recreation and tourism.

"last time we checked we had about 58 items for action.

We believe we can accomplish those in our four years" although the blueprint has already been created--millers says he's always open to other ideas and looks forward to working with commissioners to make the blue-print a reality.

According to miller, he has trust and faith in the transitional team.

He explains the group's diversity allows for a balanced administration.
