Nine newborns die in Kota govt hospital in 2 days, investigation ordered

Nine newborn babies have died at Rajasthan government's JK Lon Hospital in Kota in two days.

Five of the newborns died on Wednesday night while the rest four died on Thursday.

The hospital administration has ordered an investigation into the deaths.

Hospital superintendent said deceased newborns either had congenital disorders or ailments.

Parents of deceased newborns alleged apathy and negligence by hospital's medical staff.

Rajasthan health minister Raghu Sharma has also sought a report from the hospital.

Sharma gave strict instructions to hospital administration for proper care of newborns.

Kota South BJP MLA Sandeep Sharma visited hospital after receiving information about deaths.

Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha district president Girriraj Gautam also visited the hospital.
