Security threat gone up in Indian Ocean region: Eastern Naval Command Chief

Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) of Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain on December 03 said that the security threat in the Indian Ocean region has gone up which has forced the Navy to put all its focus on maritime domain awareness there.

"The security threat in Indian Ocean has gone up.

So, our entire focus has been on maritime domain awareness in Indian Ocean Region.

We maintain surveillance with P-8Is, Dornier aircraft and helicopters 24x7.

We have eight P8Is and are getting four more of them.

They all are going to use for maritime domain awareness closer to the coast," said Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain.
