They held a turkey frying demonstration wednesday morning as a way to remind people to be safe if they're frying a bird this year.
"we want to make sure youre a safe distance from your house or any structure, you want to make sure you're not frying indoors or not frying under your garage or anything like that."
Fire safety educator, jeremy webb, says have a backup plan in case of bad weather.
"you have to do it outside, outdoors, and we all know that rain and water don't mix with grease."
He says wear safety goggles, oven mitts, and closed toed shoes when frying -- and make sure the turkey is completely thawed out before going in the fryer.
Also, test the lines of your propane tank.
And most importantly -- keep an eye on the fryer at all times.
