Supreme Court OKs Election Day Mail-In Ballots To Count In Pennsylvania

Business Insider reports that the Supreme Court will allow Pennsylvania to count mail-in ballots received up to three days after Election Day.

According to the New York Times, this is a win for Pennsylvania Democrats, who requested over a million more absentee ballots, than registered Republicans.

The ruling lacked a GOP majority to side with an attempt to block the measure, which would have sent the decision back to the state Supreme Court.

The split ruling shows how big of a role Amy Coney Barrett could have in major decisions like the Presidential election.

The federal judge is expected to be confirmed to the Supreme Court next week.

Pennsylvania ballots that are mailed on or before Election Day, will now be counted, even if their postmarks are missing or illegible.

Pennsylvania is one of three swing states, that includes Michigan and Wisconsin.
