Hyderabad rains: IMD issues orange alert

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange alert in Hyderabad, as the city continue to witness heavy rainfall.

"Yesterday night, Hyderabad city had received heavy rainfall from thunderstorm, we are monitoring Hyderabad in high priority.

Monsoon is very active here, we have new system forming over east central Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours, it will move west or north-west.

Costal Andhra Pradesh, South Odisha and Telangana are under over monitoring 24*7, we have given orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall," said Senior Scientist, Rajendra Kumar Jenamani.

Several people have lost lives in Hyderabad as heavy downpour triggered flood-like situation in Hyderabad.
