Fort Wayne police: Driver dead after car crashed into river on Jefferson Boulevard

A man in Fort Wayne is dead after he crashed his car into a river early Tuesday Morning.

A man is dead after his car was found in the river near swinney park early this morning.

Just after 3-30, officers say they received reports of the car in the river near the 16-hundred block of west jefferson boulevard.police say a witness called 9-1-1 about the vehicle being located south of the bridge across from the park.

When they got there officers say they found a man in life threatening condition.

Investigators say the car appeared to be traveling westbound, when for an unknown reason the vehicle left the road
