House fire in Oroville destroys one home, damages another

One home was destroyed and another damaged in a nighttime house fire in Oroville.

Tonight in oroville where house fire destroyed one house and damaged another.

Reporter esteban reynoso is there on the scene tonight.

Esteban, what does it look like?

This fire started around 8:20 tonight in one house that is now completely flat you can see behind me what looks like an empty lot is where a house used to be.

But soon it spread to another damaging it you can see the damage on the neighboring roof.

People i spoke to that did not want to appear on camera told me they saw the flames, ran outside and started spraying their own house.

"we left the house, heard screaming, smelled hell of smoke, so we grabbed our shoes and looked.

So we came back out, and the flames were higher than we could see, above the house.

So i grabbed the hose and started spraying the fence and started spraying everything down so it doesn't get close to us.//first unit at scene reported a fully involved structure fire upon arrival with extension to the neighboring house, and due to quick action by fire crews at scene we were able to minimize damage of the exposure structure."

Crews here were still spraying the rubble down to put out any remaining hot spots or smoke spots.

A total of 6 engines responded to this fire.

No injuries were reported.
