Grants Helping Businesses

Through september 30th./// the city of rochester's grant programs are helping local businesses push through the pandemic.

Those programs are especially helpful to places owned by a particular population.

Kimt news 3's annalise johnson joins us live to explain.

Katie ?

"* george ?

"* i'm here downtown rochester, the city has been distributing funds to all sorts of businesses ?

"* but it specifically prioritized women ?

"* minoritiy ?

"* and veteran owned businesses while allocating more than a million dollars.

That money approved by the city council earlier this year is now in the process of being distributed to more than one hundred women ?

"* minority ?

"* and veteran* businesses in the community.

The city tells me supporting an equitable business community is a process that began even before the pandemic.xxx this is not like a brand new thing as far as our targeted business work and our workforce in those different numbers and metrics as we work to insure a more equitable community recipients for most of this money have already been selected ?

"* but the rochester public utilities grant program recently received another 250 thousand dollars to award to businesses ?

"* so people can still apply for the commercial utilites program.

Live in rochester annalise johnson kimt thank you annalise.

Olmsted county also has help for busineses available.

All city and county programs are compiled on the rochester ready web page.
