Close to 21- thousand pg&e customers in 3 counties could be in the dark the counties that could see power turned off as soon as tomorrow night are butte, plumas and yuba counties.

Pg&e says the shutoffs will primarily be in the foothill areas of those counties.

Reps from pg&e say high winds and hot temperatures prompted them to make this decision.

They are hoping to have most customers back online within twelve hours... but caution - the shut-offs could last through monday morning.

Right now is a good time to go buy a generator if you don't already have one... and plan ahead when it comes to medication and charging devices.

Pg&e will set up community resource centers if the power safety shutoffs happen.

At those locations - you can cool off, charge electronic devices or get bottled water.
