Blood Drive Focused On Safety

Right now, we are hosting a blood drive with life south in the waay 31 parking lot.

Waay 31's grace campbell spoke with the lifesouth district director about the precautions they're taking to keep donors safe from coronavirus.

Currently about have come out to the life south blood mobile to donate.

You don't need an appointment to donate but you do have to wear a mask inside the blood mobile.

Life south is making sure they're keeping everyone who donates safe by doing temperature checks and increasing all cleaning protocols.

Life south district director kelley mcphail told me they are following all c-d-c guidelines.

"we do social distancing, our staff are wearing face masks, they wear protective equipment to ensure that they are safe as well as our donors are safe.

We're doing extra precautions, extra cleaning to sanitize all of our surface areas."

All donors will receive a free covid-19 antibody test.

If donors have the antibodies, then their blood donation will be used for convalescent plasma treatments.

The blood drive is going on until 630 tonight.
