Medical Center Navicent Health increases minimum wage for employees

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- Medical Center Navicent Health increased its internal minimum wage from $7.25 per hour to $10.00 per hour.  This is according to a news release from the hospital.

The grand official opening is saturday, september 26 at 10 a.m.

Happening now, navicent health is increasing its internal minimum wage to what it calls a living wage to stay competitive with other local employers within the healthcare field.

The hospital system says pay is going from 7.25 per hour to ten dollars per hour.

The increase is for any employee making less than 10 dollars a hour.

Navicent says the wage change took effect on september 6th.
