COVID-19: Small businesses struggling to survive in coastal West Bengal

As COVID-19 broke the backbone of economy, roadside vendors have been impacted severely.

Small businesses are in tatters.

Cyclone Amphan and lack of tourists have deepened woes of street vendors in coastal West Bengal.

Coconut sellers said, "We are buying coconut to sell but there is no customer.

We are pushed to do part time labour work." "My house got damaged due to Cyclone Amphan.

Didn't get any compensation from government.

Just getting dal-chawal to eat," said a vendor.
