Tornado confirmed in Anne Arundel County, leaving debris behind
The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down Thursday night in the Edgewater area of Anne Arundel County.
The weather service said a supercell thunderstorm tracked east across central Maryland and produced an EF-1 tornado around 5:57 p.m., lasting until about 6:07 p.m.
The weather service said the estimated maximum wind speed was 90 mph, the maximum path width was 100 yards and the path length was 6.1 miles.
