Laurens County has recently seen a decline in COVID-19 cases.

Local health officials attribute the lower numbers to the Dublin mask mandate.

Covid-19 case numbers in laurens county are decreasing, according to local health officials, and they attribute the decline to actions made by the city of dublin.

The local government passed a mask mandate on august 11th.

According to the georgia department of public health, there were 30 new cases reported the day the mandate was passed.

And seven new cases reported today.

Says he's noticed more residents following c-d-c guidelines and encourages them to continue.

We've certainly seen this reduction.

I think the reduction has come because the citizens and the population around us in middle georgia have taken more seriously the guidelines of wearing you masks, and social c1 3 b13 distancing, washing your hands, etc.

But i think it's critical that people stay the course.
