Nine-foot-python rescued from school in south-east India

A nine-foot-long python was rescued from a school in south India on August 25, after being caught slithering around the grounds.

Snake catcher Pradeep Senapati was informed of the python's presence by the Ekalabya school authority in Rayagada, Odisha.

This python was roaming inside the Ekalabya model school campus since earlier that morning, but Senapati was only able to catch the animal at around 9:00pm at night.

Residents of the school campus were put at ease after the rescue of the python, which was handed over to the Rayagada forest division authorities to be released back into the jungle.
