Watch: Wild elephant roams the streets in Odisha’s Baripada town

A wild elephant strayed into the Baripada town of Odisha on Monday spreading panic among local residents.

The elephant was seen roaming freely on the streets as people watched from a distance.

Vehicular traffic was stopped for a while on the highway due to the elephant.

At one point it also entered a residential area following which the forest officials were called in.

The jumbo was then guided towards the forest area again.

Forest officials said that the elephant may have strayed into the area from neighbouring West Bengal.
