Watch: Indore police make two criminals do sit-ups before public

Indore Police on Friday made two accused do sit-ups in the middle of a road.

Incident took place in Dwarkapuri in Madhya Padesh.

The two men had absconded after attacking a person on August 11 with knife.

The incident happened after the victim refused to give away his vehicle.

In a video, the two robbers are seen doing sit-ups on road.

Accused Ajai Thakur and Vijay Vishwakarma were asked to apologise publicly.

Locals were seen clapping seeing the robbers apologising.

Police said the action was taken to reduce the fear among people.

A police official said, "The police was in search of both the accused after the incident.

After arresting, we took them where they committed the crime.

Both were made to do sit-ups and their procession was also taken out.

They were asked to touch the ground with their foreheads.

The step was necessitated as locals were losing faith in police.

It was done so that people lose the fear of criminals.

People shouldn't hesitate to come to police in case of any crime."
