Huge python caught in road with its mouth open waiting for prey

A 13ft long python was seen lying in the middle of the road with its mouth wide open waiting for a victim.

Resident Thanawat Warnna, 23, heard his dog barked at something strange that had been slowly crawling on road in front of his house in Trang, southern Thailand on July 31.

He was shocked when he rushed outside and saw the deadly snake slowly moving as its mouth was wide-open.

Reptile catcher Wutthichai Phonpernsook arrived and grabbed the python with his bare hands.

Thanawat said: "I was quite confused about my dog barking at something at night.

I was more shocked when I saw the snake, it was so big." Volunteers later drove the python to nearby woodland where it was unfurled from the sack and released.
