White House Objects To Bill Requiring Passengers, Workers To Wear Masks

A bill before the US Congress would require airline, train, and public transit passengers and workers to wear masks amid the coronavirus pandemic.

But the Trump administration has opposed the legislation, calling it 'overly restrictive.'

Such decisions should be left to states, local governments, transportation systems, and public health leaders.

The White House Office of Management and Budget Airlines, Amtrak, and most public transit systems and US airports already require all passengers and workers to wear facial coverings.

According to Reuters, the House is set to vote on the bill Friday.
