New York State has awarded $30 million to localities to prepare for flue season and a possible second wave of coronavirus.

Here's how that money breaks down locally.... oneida county will get just shy of 544 thousand dollars.

Herkimer county 254 thousand.

Otsego county 253 thousand.

The governor says this money will tackle a new challenge.... when covid starts to overlap with flu season.

2:35 this is for two purposes.

Number one to increase their contact tracing that has worked very well for us.

We want to keep that going strong, especially coming into the school year.

And number two, for those counties to start to set up flu vaccine accomdations 2:55 what we are anticipating and want to prepare for, come flu season - people will need flu tests, they'll also want covid tests 3:10 the symptoms of the fluwilt are testing for covid... will be the same labs that test for the flu.
