Passersby remove ill driver from burning car after crashing into guardrails in China

Passersby rescued a driver whose car collided the guardrail after he fell ill and lost control of the car in northern China.

The video shows a white car hit the guardrails in the middle of the road on Shuangyong Avenue in Yan'an City.

A large amount of smoke continued to emerge around the car.

Then a man ran over and opened the door of the car in heavy smoke and tried to rescue the driver from the car.

Another two men rushed up and the three of them worked together to rescue the driver and carried him aside to lie flat on the road.

As the driver's teeth were closed and convulsed, the passersby quickly took first aid measures.

After the driver had regained some consciousness, one of the men hurried to a nearby canteen to buy water for the driver.

After medical staff and traffic police arrived, the passersby left the scene one after another.

In an interview with the media, the driver, Mr Liu, said he had so much gratitude to the three passersby, who saved his life.

It’s reported that the accident was caused by a sudden illness of the driver, which did not cause damage to other vehicles or injuries.

The driver has made a recovery.

The video was filmed on July 16 and provided by local media.
