Rogue deer crashes into Indian village hotel looking for food

A wild deer decided to pay a personal visit to its local hotel in the village of Bikkodu near Hassan.

The incident, recorded by a hotel worker, took place in southern India on July 26.

Shocked customers and workers left the hotel, locked the doors, and planned to inform the forest department.

With all the exits barred, the deer started running amok inside the hotel.

The deer destroyed groceries, as well as toppled chairs and tables before workers opened the door, and the deer disappeared into the forest.

Residents said the deer lives at a coffee estate on the edge of the forest and was used to food given by a few hotel customers.

Due to COVID-19 restriction, the hotel has received very few customers, and the deer was not receiving any food.

Locals speculate that the deer decided to pay a visit, missing the spicy food.
