Kashmir village gets power for the first time in 70 years | Oneindia News

A village in the remote regions of Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir lit up for the first time since India's independence.

The far flung areas of Kellar in Shopian did not have power for decades until this month, under a centrally sponsored scheme, homes in the region were electrified.

The village elders have lived without electricity for as long as they can remember, but things changed within 1 week.
