The CDC is shortening the period that people should isolate after testing positive for Covid-19 to ten days.

The c-d-c says someone with the virus can stop isolating based on how severe their symptoms are.

The hamilton county health department says adults with the coronavirus can now stop isolating 10 days after they develop symptoms. that's if they haven't had a fever for at least 24 hours without taking fever-reducing medicine, and their other symptoms have improved.

If the covid patients are asymptomatic, they can stop isolating 10 days after their first positive test.

However, the health department says people with severe symptoms from the virus - like those hospitalized - should extend isolation and precautions for up to 20 days after developing symptoms. you can read more about the new recommendation s on our website, wdef
