More room for patio dining at Chico's Pour House

The Pour House expanded its outdoor patio, allowing for more customers to come and enjoy their food.

Of chico recently issued an emergency order allowing restaurants to expand outdoor dining.

Action news now reporter christina vitale shows us how one local restaurant is utilizing its space.

### me: as you can see behind me the pour house expanded their outdoor patio allowing for more customers to come and enjoy their favorite meal sot: i feel like everyones been spaced out really well and yeah i don't feel uncomfortable eating out here the pour house closed its indoor dining after governor newsoms order on monday.

Owner gary lewis says seating capacity dropped from 420 seats to now about 175.

Lewis: of course i wasn't terribly happy but nonetheless we gotta do what the cdc and public health department asked us to do and also whats best for the community lewis says he used some of his extra indoor tables for the expansion lewis: and we built a shaded tented area out in front of our existing area gary lewis: pour house owner: we are trying to offer both a safe and tolerable outdoor ding experience considering we are 100 degree days sot: i love it here it's a great experience its like our own oasis we come here and we enjoy our time sot: i like the idea of them being able to expand and i feel think a neat idea like downtown would be to close the street and let the businesses come out on the street: lewis: we're very fortunate on our end and of course i hope that someday we get a hall opened up soon me: lewis tells me he calls public health every day to keep informed about the latest rules and regulations to apply for temporary use of outdoor space-- businesses may contact the city of chico planning division of the community development department.
