Proposed legislation would ban use of most no-knock warrants

Y1j0y0y c1 3 'no knock search warrant' at the apartment of breonna taylor in march...shooting her to death...which triggered protests and demonstrations in that city and across the country.

It led to louisville banning the use of the controversial no-knock warrant...and lexington issuing a moratorium on them.

Now state senate president robert stivers is preparing legislation that would effectively ban the use of no- knock search warrants statewide.

The only exceptions would be for arrest warrants, hostage situations or threats of life.

Stivers hope the bill will be considered in next year's general assembly
